Christina Wynans

Christina Wynans is an aspiring singer/songwriter from Port Alberni, BC. She is 15 years old and is in
grade 10 at Alberni District Secondary School. Christina has been singing and playing piano her whole life,
as well as writing her own songs. She has also taught herself to play the guitar. In the past year,
Christina has preformed at many local events, including Folk Fest, the Tall Ships Festival, the
Salmon Festival, the Fall Fair, the U-17 World Hockey Challenge, and Angel and Jelly Bean’s Variety Show. Last October, Christina was selected from applicants across BC to travel to Vancouver to take part in the
2008 BCMEA Vocal Jazz Honour Ensemble. She is very involved with the music program at ADSS.
This year she is a part of seven different performing groups, which will be competing at several festivals throughout the coming year. Recently, her school’s Jazz Band, in which Christina played piano,
competed at the Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival in Moscow, Idaho,
and received first place in their category..
